Bi monthly meeting

A motion was put to – Change MBCL monthly meetings to bi – monthly meetings.
Motion was passed.
Judy will stay on as President until the end of 2026.
For important issues Committee will meet or email to be used for short term actions.
Members are asked to send in reports in a WORD document and Bronwen will put them in a Newsletter.

Council Update

Food trucks. Applications closed on May 31st. It is proposed that food trucks and ‘Wellbeing places” be allowed to operate in Kingston. This includes areas near the foreshore. Concerns were voiced regarding parking, frequency and commercialisation of our open spaces.
There were a rather lot of applications to remove canopy trees. RW to check if there is a requirement to replace or not.

Council to support Edithvale public Golf Course with a grant.
Council are selling off 3 properties including 2 Scout Halls.

Rossdale Golf Course

Committee continue to investigate. So still waiting for outcome.

Council Update

Learmonth’s Reserve Thomsons Rd nominated and accepted as a Botanical Garden.
Many canopy trees on private land given permits to remove. Need to keep track of this.

Level Crossing Removal Project – Mordialloc Railway precinct

On behalf of various community groups our members of the stakeholders group were asked to pitch for the BIOSIS team as they wrote the Environmental Management Plan to manage the revegetation of Groves Reserve.

Areas where vegetation has been removed will be replanted. Judy to write to Emily Boucher and also refer to the damaged Casuarina tree at Mordialloc Sailing Club.
