Kingston Council Update (Foreshore & Bushland)

Invite Candice Mingo (Team leader Foreshore & Bushland Leader) to July Meeting.
Invite Cr Sarah O’Donnell (Yammerbook Ward) to a meeting.
Council Climate Change Update – saved 2 million in power, changing to electric and saving gas.
Urban Forest Strategy. Council voted unanimously to replace 3 for 1 when trees are removed.

LXRA and the Mordialloc Railway precinct

Stakeholders meeting – only 4 in attendance which is disappointing.
Is Kingston Council advising on the planting of Groves Reserve? LXRP said YES.
Bruce Cutts said the wording of plant type should not be native but local indigenous.
He also said that there are 35 species. Meeting with Jonathan Gutman needs to be organized. Rosemary has come up with specific questions to be asked. All agreed to accept these steps.
Only need to plant the EVC that originally existed. Not to put in bitumen paths.
LXRP should engage BIOSIS to advise. Need to hand over collected seeds to Council so they can be propagated.
To be organized – meeting with Tim Richardson, Oscar Craig – advisor to the Environment Minister, the CEO of LXRP.
