The cliff track

The cliff track starts at Mordialloc and runs through Parkdale, Mentone and Beaumaris. Intermittently this track passes through carparks, lifesaving clubs and yacht clubs.
The Australian Impressionists walked along this path. In 1887 renowned painter Tom Roberts wrote in his diary:
“We returned in the evening through groves of exquisite Ti trees.”
Mordialloc Beaumaris Conservation League supported the Around the Bay Bike and Walking Trail “edge of road curb” option. This led to the retention of many indigenous trees and understory plants on the cliff for protection from wind and storms.
